Amy Schumer has revealed quite a few details about Jennifer Lawrence in an interview with “Girls” creator Lena Dunham. Amid the “Lenny Letter” interview controversy, Lena also apologised to Odell Beckham Jr.

Amy revealed that a funny text from Jennifer helped her stay strong following the shooting that took place in 2015 during a threatre screening of Amy’s “Trainwreck.” The shooting had left two women dead in Lafayette, Louisiana, in the US.

Amy told Lena that Jennifer had texted her saying, “It’s your fault.” Schumer, being a comedian, could instantly relate to this message and said that this was actually when she felt closest to Lawrence. She said that in times like this, only jokes can make a person feel better. Lena added, “Jennifer Lawrence texting ‘It’s your fault’ is like the greatest worst thing I have ever heard.”

In July 2015, a man named John Russell Houser opened fire at “Trainwreck’s” screening in a Louisana theatre, killing two people and injuring nine others before committing suicide. After the shooting, it was discovered that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.1, while the legal limit is 0.08.

During the interview, Lena speculated that Odell ignored her at their Met Gala table because he did not find her sexually desirable. “I was sitting next to Odell Beckham Jr., and it was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards,” she told Schumer.

Twitter did not take this in a positive sense. Many accused her of projecting a baseless sexual narrative onto Beckham Jr., who could have been quiet for various reasons.

At first, Dunham chalked up the whole statement to her sense of humour. But on Saturday, she issued an apology on her Instagram feed, admitting that her insensitivity toward Odell stemmed from insecurity. Read the full statement below.
