Lenovo Revamps Its Touch Lineup, Adds Lenovo Miix in their Portfolio
Lenovo is boosting its line of products especially their touch series with the new Lenovo Miix. Apart from their group of touch-enabled laptops running on Windows 8, Lenovo introduces a slimmer and more portable version through the Miix.
The Lenovo Miix is a 10.1-inch Windows 8 tablet that comes with a keyboard and complete with laptop-like capacities. It doubles as a laptop for a tablet. Running on Intel Atom (Cloverfield) platform, the tablet also features a 5-point touch screen, 64GB of flash storage and optional 3G WWAN along with 802.11 b/g/n.
Users have the option of adding 32GB storage through the micro-SDHC card slot. Miix is equipped with a sealed internal battery that can last up to 10 hours. The new Lenovo touch device weighs 1.27 pounds and is 10mm thin. The Miix targets small business people and individual consumers looking for extended battery life but with the portability of a tablet similar to Apple's iPad or Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
Aside from the portability and battery life, the Lenovo Miix also offers the computing versatility of Windows 8. The folio case of the device features a complete QWERTY keyboard and laptop-style built-in keys. It is also possible to work with the device without the touchpad built. Miix prices start at $500 and will be available in stores in the third quarter.
Lenovo's IdeaPad S210 Touch, S400 Touch, and S500 Touch are the company's offering under the mainstream-level laptops. All of these devices run on third-generation Intel core processors. Their target market is general PC users. The S400 Touch and S500 Touch has a 10-point touch functions along with AMD Radeon discrete graphics. They are around 23mm thick.
The S400 features a 14-inch screen, whereas the S500 features a 15-inch display. Users can equip both systems using hybrid HDD+SSD configurations. Other offerings of Lenovo include the IdeaPad S210 which is a more compact version of the other computing devices.
