Lenovo is boosting its presence in the ultrabooks industry as it just released the ThinkPad S531. The ultrabook has a backlit keyboard and super slim design that can rival many high end offerings on the market today.

The Lenovo ThinkPad S531 features an aluminum and magnesium alloy construction offering durability and lightness as the same time. There is also a 180 degree hinge linking the screen. This allows users to tailor the screen's angle according to their preferences.

Users have the option of using any type of Intel 3rd generation Core processors. The device offers up to 10GB of RAM as well as 500GB hard disk drive. ThinkPad S531 runs on the newest Windows 8 operating system.

"The progressive design of our ThinkPad S531 will help small businesses impress their customers. We pack a punch behind that style, however, as we are committed to delivering genuine substance with improved performance, battery life and legendary ThinkPad reliability," Vincent Fauquenot, vice president of Products and Channels, Lenovo EMEA said in a press release.

"The ThinkPad S531 offers an intuitive Windows 8 experience with the power needed to accelerate productivity." He added.

The company also explained why the ThinkPad has beveled edges. They claim this offers the illusion that the PC is floating on top of a desk. Even through this design principle often works better in theory than in reality.

Under the hood, ThinkPad S351 has features that can appeal to the corporate market. Lenovo explains that the laptop offers as much as 15% performance boost than its predecessor. It can also last up to 9 hours just ideal when traveling long distances.
