DiCaprio has been nominated for ten times in the Golden Globes. His first nomination was for Best Supporting Actor - Motion Picture for the 1994 film "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," wherein he played the role of Arnie, the mentally challenged younger brother of Gilbert Grape, played by Johnny Depp. His other Golden Globe nominations were for the films "Titanic" (1998), "Catch Me If You Can" (2003), "The Departed" (2007), "Blood Diamond (2007), "Revolutionary Road" (2009), "J. Edgar (2012) and "Django Unchained" (2013). Seven of these nominations were for the Best Actor - Motion Picture Drama category.
Leonardo DiCaprio and his co-star Australian actress Margot Robbie recently talked about their sex scenes in "The Wolf of Wall Street." Robbie reportedly lied about it to her family, especially her parents. She said that at first, she denied that there was any nudity in the film. However, as the film was about to be shown in movie theaters, she 'fessed up to them and came clean.
On the other hand, DiCaprio said that his parents were unfazed about his sex scenes in the film.
"I think that the perception of me is still the child actor," he said, "[So] that, you know, people would wonder what my parents thought. But to tell you the truth, it didn't faze them whatsoever. I mean, I was reading underground comics in the back of my dad's station wagon that were much more gratuitous than this at 10 years old, so nothing really affected them on that level," said DiCaprio in a News.com.au report.
"I am almost 40 years old now, so I'd hope that I wouldn't have to answer to them," he added.
Aside from winning the Best Performance in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy Award in the 71st Golden Globe Awards for the film "The Wolf of Wall Street," DiCaprio has been nominated for other award giving bodies including the Academy Awards, the Critic's Choice Awards, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and the Saturn Award.
