Leonardo DiCaprio's face slasher sentenced to two years in prison
Aretha Wilson, who slashed Inception star Leonardo Di Caprio's face, has been sentenced to two years in prison. Wilson pleaded guilty to a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon stemming from the incident five years ago.
Early this year , Aretha claimed that it was the Hollywood star Leo who started the confrontation between the two. Wilson's lawyer also requested a toxicology report as well as Leo's medical records from the evening citing inconsistencies in the witnesses' testimonies.
She could have served up to four-years in prison but the sentence was mitigated due to her guilty plea. Reportedly, Leonardo DiCaprio was willing to testify against the model in court, and this convinced Aretha to enter into a plea bargain.
According to Los Angeles District Attorney Office spokeswoman Jane Robison, after serving time in the US, Aretha Wilson will be deported back to her home country Canada.
Wilson was extradited back to the U.S. from Toronto last July to be tried for the felony charge of assault against the Hollywood actor. She had spent time in jail for a similar assault in her native country.
