Les Miserable to Cast Which Star: Taylor Swift or Amanda Seyfried?
Les Miserables is set to be shown on Broadway and who'd be a better choice as Eponine than Taylor Swift? Yet, what's this about Amanda Seyfried who's also been offered a role on the show as well?
We doubt they're feeling anything less than miserable so who is playing who on the much awaited Broadway take on Hugo's Les Miserables?
Helena Bonham Carter who is set to play Madame Thenardier, alongside Sacha Baron Cohen as her husband, who both, are acting (and singing) as parents of Eponine. Eponine, on the other hand is said to be played by the country pop starTaylor Swift. However, there is no word from the singer's representative if she'll be pursuing the highly anticipated role.
The director, Tom Hooper, had other choices in mind apart from the Grammy award winner. Reports confirmed that he also approached actors Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood. Glee's Lea Michele was also a reported choice for the role of Eponine.
Now if Eponine is said to be played by Taylor Swift, where does the "Mamma Mia!" star come into the picture? The "In Time" actress, Amanda Seyfried, is said to be in final negotiations to play the part of Cosette. As for Cosette's mother, Fantine, will be played by Anne Hathaway.
A star-studded cast indeed, but still no word from both Taylor Swift and Amanda Seyfried if the roles would be final. Added stars that are said to be part of Les Miserables are "My Week with Marilyn's" Eddie Redmayne as Marius, actor Russell Crowe as Javert, and Hugh Jackman taking on the role of Jean Valjean.
The much anticipated Broadway show is awaiting both stars to sign the offered roles. As for the filming of Les Miserables, it will take off by March under the highly trained eye of director Tom Hooper. All members of the cast are of course expected to sing live on film. Fans, however, will have to wait until December 7 of this year for the final release.
We've seen both actresses sing and hold a tune perfectly, now the question is will they be able to do it in an actual play with a lot of cast member belting out with them?
