British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton had a lot of celebrating to do after coming out triumphant in the Hungarian Grand Prix. Subsequently, he has effectively reignited his title bid and given his Mercedes AMG team what has been reported as a 'miraculous first win.'

So what's with the pensive aura and the sad longing eyes?

In an interview after the race, the 2008 F1 World Champion made it apparent that he wasn't in a festive mood without his ladylove.

He didn't even make an effort to hide his emotions as he ever so subtly dedicated his victory to ex-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger. Looking emotionally distraught, Hamilton's voice almost broke at the implication of his ex-beau's name.

The couple broke up not too long ago, due to conflicting work schedules and geographical reasons; the former Pussycat Doll is in L.A. for most part because of her job as a judge on X-Factor while the F1 racer is literally in different parts of the world participating in the Grand Prix.

"It has not been the easiest few months. It feels a little bit odd without that someone here - but I would say now that this is one of those races you want to dedicate to that someone. The thought in my mind through the whole race was of someone really special to me and I want to dedicate it to her," Hamilton stated.

This was one of the most important wins of my career. Hard work, team work & your support brought this. Thank you #F1 pic.twitter.com/rPY99pwLRm

What is success without love, indeed.

Do we hint a chance at reconciliation for the former flames? Fingers crossed that we see Nicole at the Belgian Grand Prix!
