Technology giant Samsung is slapped with legal charges from another big company, LG Display. According to Dow Jones Newswires, Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 OLED screen display violated LG patents which resulted to the conflict between the two Korean companies.

Aside from the patent charges, LG Display filed a ban order against Samsung's tablet from importation to retail and even manufacturing. The company wants to receive an amount of $933,000 per day each time Samsung fails to comply with LG's conditions.

Samsung's patent violation is on the OLED display technology which allows users to view the screen better at different angles.

Back in September 2012, LG already filed a patent lawsuit against Samsung claiming there were seven violations on its OLED patents. According to LG, Samsung violated the design, driver circuitry and device design of its OLED panels. The lawsuit indicated an indeterminate amount in damages and a total ban order on Samsung's five devices such as the Galaxy S3 smart phone, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Note.

Samsung hit back in November 2012 when the company filed their own lawsuit against LG Display. In the filed case, Samsung requests LG Display to nullify the patents in question further claiming that LG lacks innovation.

LG and Samsung have been Korea's top screen display manufacturers used in smart phones, tablets and televisions. The two companies continue to compete with each other for the opportunity of leading market shares particularly in the area of OLED panels.

Shim Jaeboo, Samsung Display Vice President, told Dow Jones Newswires that Samsung made no violations on LG Display's patents and added that the company is ready to act in response with LG's groundless claims. "LG Display's claims are bogus. LG's case won't go far," VP Shim Jaeboo stated.
