LG G Flex 10 Very Useful Tips to Maximise Features and Get More Than Entertainment
LG G Flex boasts of an immersive and panoramic viewing experience due to its curved screen but it is also heavy-packed with hidden features you might not know about. Here are ten tips and tricks to maximise its functionality and get more than just entertainment.
Become More Productive
Its six inches of screen display can utilise multi-tasking by enabling two apps viewable at the same time. Use the QSlide feature from the notifications shade then choose apps and move or resize according to eyes' comfort.
Improve the Display
Unlike with other flagship smartphones, LG G Flex only offers 720p display resolution which is noticeable for 1080p users. In order to improve it, go to System Settings > Display > Brightness > Tune up to at least 80 per cent. Don't worry about the power consumption because G Flex has a great battery life.
Intelligent Keyboard
Normally, pressing the back key removes the virtual keyboard from the display screen but on LG G Flex, swiping downwards will set aside it while dragging your thumbs from the centre outward will make it split into two in landscape mode.
App Switching
One of LG's normal features is the ability to switch quickly between two or three applications. Swipe three fingers to the left will save the app you are currently using and holds it in place while swiping three fingers to the right displays three most recently saved applications on separated tabs.
Instant Multimedia Access
LG G Flex reacts whenever you insert the headphones to the slot which brings a pop-up menu at the bottom of the screen, giving you instant access to music and video apps.
Syncing with a Tablet
You can receive incoming calls and message alerts on your Android tablet by syncing LG G Flex using the QPair app from the Play Store. Download it on your tablet then connect it to G Flex via Bluetooth and hit options. Once paired, your Android tablet will now receive notifications without you looking at the smartphone all the time.
Bending and Healing
You can bend the G Flex from flat to 180 degrees without getting any damages. It also heals itself from minor scratches due to a special coating added by LG. However, do not bend the device on the other way or twist it to avoid serious damages and never fry your G Flex even if the self-healing works better when it is hot.
Quick Theatre
You can access the photo, video and YouTube apps from the lock screen by swiping two fingers or thumbs apart from the centre. To enable it, go to the lock screen settings in the system settings menu and enable Swipe lock screen mode.
Dual Window
Unlike with QSlide, Dual Window supports more applications for multi-window viewing mode. Go to System Settings > General > Multitasking > Dual Window. Press and hold the back button then drag the app icon to wherever you want to place it. It will allow two apps to share the display screen 50-50.
Quick Translator
In case you saw some text using a non-Roman language that makes it harder to type on Google Translate, use the Quick Translator from the App Drawer. It can use the camera app to read and translate a foreign text. You should specify the focus which could be a word, a line or a block for it to properly work.
