LG G3 vs Sony Xperia Z2 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 vs HTC One M8 vs iPhone 5S
With the arrival of LG G3, the smartphone market is now becoming competitive and all the brands are competing for the top post.
It is important to understand what LG G3 has to offer as compared to other successful phones in order to succeed in the busy flagship market.
1. Design
The LG G3 is made of brushed metal effect plastic back with the largest screen at 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm weighing in at 149gms. Whereas, the Galaxy S5 has 142 X 72.5 X 8.1mm frame and weighs at 145gms, iPhone 5s weighs 112gms but has a small screen with 123.8 X 58.6 X7.6mm and finally the heaviest among all is the 160gms HTC One M8 with a metal unibody and 163gms metal and glass built Sony Xperia Z2 with 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm and 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm screen respectively.
iPhone is the only handset without an expandable storage option but along with HTC One m8, it comes with nanoSIMs. And LG G3, Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 are sharing a microSIM port.
Each handset has its own unique design. LG puts its volume button on the back, Apple opted for TouchID, Samsung has a fingerprint scanner, Sony features omni-balance design and HTC offers the dual speaker design. Also, Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 are the only phones with waterproof and dust resistance qualities.
2. Display
The LG G3 has the largest screen size among all others with 5.5 inches and has the most pixels at 538ppi. In comparison, HTC One M8 is 5 inches with 441ppi, Galaxy S5 is 5.1 inches with 432ppi, Xperia Z2 is 5.2 inches with 424ppi and iPhone 5S is at the least with 4 inch screen and with the lowest ppi at 326.
In addition, the LG G3 packs a QHD 1440 x 2560 display whereas Apple comes with a lower resolution at only 640 x 1136 pixels and has LED IPS LCD screen. The S5, M8 and Z2 were launched at Full HD 1080 x 1920 screens and are covered with Super AMOLED panel, Super LCD3 and IPS LCD respectively.
3. Power
Both LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S5 have 2.5GHz versions whereas the One M8 and Xperia Z2 has 2.3GHz All the Android phones opted for Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdraon 801 SoC and Adreno 300 GPU along with 2GB RAM except Sony Xperia Z2 which has a 3GB RAM.
Whereas, the iPhone 5S runs on 64 bit power, 1.GHz dual-core A7, 1GB RAM and PowerVR G6430 GPU.
4. Operating System
The only different phone in terms of operating system is iPhone 5S which is running the iOS7. Though the Android versions are running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, each handset has a different feature.LG G3 has a simple and bright UI coming with the KnockOn and Smart Notice feature, Samsung has the latest TouchWiz UI, Xperia Z2 has the Sony UI and with Sense 6.0 HTC One M8 has its Blinkfeed screen.
5. Camera
The LG G3 includes a 13MP camera with Optical Image Stabilisation and a 2.1MP front camera. Samsung has a 16MP ISOCELL camera which records 4K video, backed by an LED flash and a 2MP front camera. Sony Xperia Z2 packs on 20.7MP sensor which is also capable of recording 4K video with an LED flash. The front camera is a 2.2MP beating Samsung.
Both iPhone 5S with 8MP camera and HTC One M8 with dual Ultrapixel camera has a dual LED flash for more colour in lower light.
6. Battery
The Sonia Xperia Z2 comes with the biggest battery of 3200mAh followed by LG G3 with a removable 3000mAh battery and Samsung with 2800mAh battery. HTC One M8 offers a 2600mAh battery and finally the iPhone 5S tucks in a 1560mAh battery.
