LG earned success with the Nexus 4 and the Optimus line of Android devices, and now the company has been speculated working on with Google. However, Google and LG didn't confirmed Nexus 5 manufacturing but it seems that the South Korean tech company is developing the upcoming Optimus G2. Is this the secret smartphone they have been hiding?

Optimus G2 Prototype Image Leaked

EVLeaks posted on Twitter a speculated LG Optimus G2 prototype sample having edge-to-edge display, thin bezel and no navigation buttons. During the initial circulation of the leak, LG was assumed working on the brand new Nexus 5 which will be under Optimus line up.

"Currently, the consumer electronics arm of LG Group is working with Internet-giant Google to make another Nexus-branded Google Android smartphone," according to the Korean Times.

There is no doubt that LG is working on something to compete with other flagship such as Samsung Galaxy S4, Apple iPhone 6, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z. It is still unknown whether the company will only focus Optimus line up or contribute to the upcoming Nexus 5.

LG Optimus G2 This Year?

LG Optimus G2 has been planned to be launched this year 2013 and possibly on the third quarter.

"LG Optimus G2 is coming in Q3, yes. We don't want to hide everything but similarly we don't want to promote everything about the G2 in advance. To some extend we have to tease the features and specifications through channels, it is somewhat premature for me to talk about the G2 in terms of specifications. G2 is going to be something different, something unique and we have needed to be very creative. There is something unnamed that is a G2," according to LG Mobile Vice President Eu Wong Kim noted by AllAboutPhone.

LG seems to be reorganising new technologies which will be imparted to their new line up and taking similar steps on innovation like Motorola Mobility. LG Optimus G2 may have Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie if released on the third quarter of 2013.
