Liam Hemsworth Admits Chris Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus Make Hollywood Easier
Australian hunk Liam Hemsworth admits that having his brother Chris Hemsworth and girlfriend Miley Cyrus does help when it comes to navigating Hollywood. But he is quick to point out that this does not make it easier to get roles.
“It’s definitely nice to have people around me like [my brother] and my girlfriend, who have experienced it before,” said Liam on an interview for Flaunt magazine.
“To ask them questions, it definitely makes it easier in that sense. It doesn’t make it any easier getting roles. It’s just me in the room when I’m meeting directors and reading with directors.”
The younger Hemsworth follows the lead of his brother Chris, who gained international popularity playing the Norse god/superhero “Thor.”
Liam first gained international exposure after starring opposite Miley Cyrus in the romantic movie the “The Last Song”. Prior to his movie with Cyrus, Liam appeared in the hit Australian soap opera, “Neighbours” as Josh Taylor.
But having a brother and a girlfriend who are famous in their own right does not guarantee a steady flow of work for Liam. In fact, he was recently cut out of the second installment of “The Expendables”.
“I got a call from [Sylvester] Stallone… It was a really surreal moment. Two weeks later, we found out that the script got rewritten.”
But it's not all bad news for the 22-year-old actor. He will be next seen in the film adapation of "The Hunger Games" as Gale Hawthorne who appears in three novels in the series. Liam will also play Ali Baba in "Arabian Nights," set for release in 2014.
