Australian hunk Liam Hemsworth is backing on-and-off screen partner Miley Cyrus to win the favourite movie star trophy at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

Hemsworth is in his native Australia to host the Kid's Choice awards alongside singer Jessica Mauboy and iCarly star Jerry Trainor.

The Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award is famous for the slime poured over celebrity attendees and its categories ilike Cutest Couple, Hottest Hottie and Baddest Baddie.

Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus are nominated for Fave Kiss award for their work in the romantic film The Last Song, where the two met and co-starred. Liam said that a surprise appearance from Miley Cyrus is unlikely for today's award show, but did not entirely dismissed the idea.

"I'm not sure about (surprise appearance from Miley Cyrus) but it'll be a surprise, but I wouldn't get my hopes up, she could be, I don't know," said Liam.
