Liam Hemsworth

Former "Neighbours" star Liam Hemsworth has been confirmed as the latest cast member of the sequel to the action blockbuster "The Expendables". Fresh from a starring role in "Hunger Games", the young Melbourne-born actor is reported to play a sniper in the film.

Liam is the youngest of three brothers, who are all actors, and Liam reportedly missed out on the lead role of action film "Thor" to his older brother Chris Hemsworth. Whilst he has regularly been in the public eye thanks to his long-time beau Miley Cyrus, he now appears to be making a name for himself and was tipped by American magazine "Details" as one of their tips for "The Next Generation of Hollywood's Leading Men". He is also seen as one of the "55 Faces of the Future" in American magazine "Nylon's" Young Hollywood issue.

Hemsworth followed a common career path of promising Australian actors in beginning his career with a spot on "Home and Away" and a few episodes of "Neighbours" over the course of 2007 and 2008. His film career began with minor roles in "Knowing", "Triangle" and a lead role with Miley Cyrus in "The Last Song".

He joins a spectacular cast of action superstars for the sequel to 2010's "The Expendables". Already confirmed for the film are Sylvester Stallone, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Nicholas Cage, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Travolta, Jet Li and Randy Couture. The film is expected to hit cinema screens in August 2012.
