Kristen Stewart has issued a public apology for hurting her on-screen and real life boyfriend of three years, Robert Pattinson. Rupert Sanders also issued a public apology over his infidelity. The wounded party in the triangle, Sander's wife, Liberty Ross, had only one tweet to say.

The apologies and Ross' tweet are understood to be confirmation of a magazine revelation that was earlier disputed by hardcore Robsten fans. Kristen did cheat on Rob with a married man.

The cover story and fans' defence

In the cover of Us magazine, a photo of Sanders getting cozy with Stewart is seen with the headline that says, "Kristen cheats on Rob!"

Stewart's fans initially scrutinized the image and had determined it was photoshopped. However, both Sanders and Stewart have issued their apologies to their respective partners.

Kristen's apology

Shortly after news broke out on Stewart's extra-marital romance with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, the young actress issued a public apology. In a statement, Stewart said:

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

People.com ran the apology Wednesday, just hours after Robsten fans vehemently defended their idol, saying Us magazine's "photoshopped" its photo of Stewart and Sanders in a very romantic moment.

Rupert Sanders' apology

Sanders also issued a public apology via People.com: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family... My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

"Snow White" is Sanders' first feature film. Ross is in the movie as Snow White's beloved mother. Their two young children have cameo roles in the picture, too.

Liberty Ross' reaction

Hours before the flabbergasting news of the cheating came out, Ross took to Twitter to unleash an explosive one-word reaction: "Wow."

She also tweeted, "sometimes bad things fall apart so better things can fall together," before she deleted her Twitter account.

The shocking news has since gathered various reactions from the Robsten fans. Many are pointing out that Kristen is only 22 and should be understood for her indiscretion. Sanders, 41, should have known better, according to Stewart's fans.
