One Direction's planned hiatus begins in March 2016 but the boys have already unveiled plans about what they will do after they are no longer committed to work as a boy band.

Band member Louis Tomlinson is teaming up with “The X Factor” guru Simon Cowell to form a girl band, Tomlinson said during an interview with “The X Factor's” Xtra Preview.

"I've got a little label imprint so I'm trying to work with that at the moment.... I'm lucky enough to be working with Simon. We've got a few different projects going on at the moment one of which is we're trying to put a girl band together,” the would-be dad said, according to Billboard.

"It's really exciting to be involved in the different side of it, the background," Tomlinson added. The singer also has a spot on “The X Factor” as a guest judge.

Meanwhile, his bandmate Niall Horan revealed he would utilise the time off to travel to his home country Ireland. "It'll be the simple things like going home a bit more, seeing everyone I hadn't seen in a while,” Horan told radio show 2FM.

The Irish hunk is keen to travel to new places and also revealed that he would love to rent a cottage “somewhere in Ireland, or get a caravan."

His other plans include “to be a low single figure in golf” and be in better physical shape by working out. In his previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, the singer said he will also use the hiatus period to write some fresh music with Liam Payne, as this is something he really enjoys.

Horan also added that it is normal for most bands to go on a break after working for a couple of years but in their case, the break has been blown out of proportion by the media. “It really isn’t as big and dramatic as it’s been made out,” he added.
