Just when everyone is waiting for 'Limitless' actor, Bradley Cooper to pop the question to his Oscar-winner girlfriend and former 'Case 39' co-star, Renee Zellweger, the couple has reportedly called it quits over the weekend.

She wanted to spend time with him for ‘unlimited’ time knowing how serious Rene has gotten into his handsome beau, but the celebrity couple has broken up as confirmed by People.com Friday.

A number of sources close to the celebrity couple have affirmed the split but the representatives for both Zellweger and Cooper have remained mum about the rumored breakup.

The 'Limitless' actor met his Oscar-winning girlfriend at the set of 'Case 39' where the two starred in 2006. But TVGuide.com said that the celebrity couple began dating romantically only in summer 2009.

They first outed in July 2009 when photographed dining together in New York city. Then they were spotted kissing in Spain in early August said UsMagazine followed by Renee’s visit to Bradley’s Philadelphia home town a week after.

Friends close to the couple have told UsMagazine that Renee was dedicated to the relationship and had tried to make it work.

The 'Bridget Jones’s Diary' star had even cancelled her spot at this year’s Golden Globe in order to be with him when Bradley’s father, Charles died on January 15.

"She tried to make it work, but in the end it was too hard," a Zellweger insider was quoted as telling UsMagazine, "Her friends feel bad it ended, but she's okay."

Bradley and Renee have opted to tighten their lips and leave their fans in the dark on the status of the relationship.

Bradley Cooper stars in the upcoming film, 'Limitless', a story about a writer who discovers a drug that gives him super-human abilities.

The 41-year-old actor joins multi-talented actor, Robert DeNiro in the sci-fi thriller that opened in theater on March 18.
