Los Angeles sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed that Lindsay Lohan was released at 1:35 a.m. PT Monday after serving only 14 days of a 90-day sentence for a violation on her probation in a 2007 drug case. She must now stay in rehab for three months. NBC News reported that she left the Lynwood prison through an undetected side entrance.

According to a prosecutor, there is no possibility that Lohan will be released early and should stay in the facility during the prescribed period for treatment.

A Beverly Hills judge had ordered Lilo to report to rehab within a day of her discharge from prison but shortened that time last week after a deliberation with her lawyer and a prosecutor. Whitmore said that she had to directly report to the rehab.

Staff from the UCLA Medical Center, where Lohan will be treated, picked up the troubled actress, celebrity website RadarOnline reported.

Her short stay in prison was not a surprise, but it was definitely longer than the 84 minutes she spent at the same facility in 2007. Inmates who are serving time at the women's jail operated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have their stays lessened because of overcrowding and credits for good behavior.
