Lindsay Lohan, out of Linda Lovelace biopic
Lindsay Lohan has been booted out of the upcoming biopic of adult film star Linda Lovelace. Malin Akerman (Watchmen, Heartbreak Kid) will be replacing Lohan for her role in the film.
Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story focuses on the life of adult film star Linda Lovelace. Lovelace is infamous for her performance in a 1972 adult film Deep Throat. Since then, Lovelace had denounced her pornography career, and even became a spokeswoman against anti-pornography movement.
Lindsay Lohan was originally tapped for the role with some stars from the adult film industry saying that Lohan wll be able to play Linda Lovelace with justice since the two has many things in common. The role of Linda Lovelace has been largely avoided by Hollywood's biggest stars, due to the fact that it has something to do with pornography.
Whether Lohan was fired or her abrupt departure from the film is a mutual decision remains unclear. But entertainment Web site Deadline quotes an insider saying that Lindsay was dropped because of the difficulty of insuring the film with her in it.
Apparently, the producers of the film wants Malin Akerman for the role. Akerman has appeared in a couple of commercially successful films. She has starred along with Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses, and will next be seen in Wanderlust with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Anniston.
The Linda Lovelace biopic is based on the novel Ordeal: An Autobiography by Linda Lovelace with Mike McGrady.
