Lindsay Lohan raises funds for Japan relief efforts
The embattled actress has joined celebrity booker Claus Hjelmbak and Danish artist Poul Pava for the initiative.
While actress Lindsay Lohan was preparing for her courtroom appearance scheduled later this month, the ‘Mean Girls’ star had squeezed in in her calendar a day to raise funds for Japan relief efforts.
Radar Online reports in its website that the embattled actress has joined celebrity booker Claus Hjelmbak and Danish artist Poul Pava for the initiative.
The group has instigated an awareness project on the after-effects of earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan early March, devastating the country and its people.

According to The Daily Chilli, Lindsay joined the group signing posters over the weekend.
“She is truly the most talked about celebrity and she has superstar power,” Claus Hjelmbak was quoted as saying by The Daily Chilli.
He noted that the actress contacted him and Poul Pava after hearing about their plans.
"I'm working with Poul to raise funds for Japan, and when Lindsay heard she jumped straight in to help. Poul has designed a special shirt and part of the proceeds will be donated to The American Red Cross For Japan,” Hjelmbak said.
He added, "He gave Lindsay one of his shirts and she will be wearing it to help raise awareness for the cause - with her help and the publicity it will bring, we should be able to raise so much more money."

The celebrity booker also praised the ‘Parent Trap’ star for thinking of the victims in Japan amidst the legal issues she is battling in.
Hjelmbak said, “She was so sweet, while packing for the airport to go to New York she took the time to sign posters to raise money for a Japan fund.
"She is so strong despite everything she has been through, she is holding up in a situation where most people would break."
Lindsay Lohan has earlier been reported rejecting the judge plea offer and decided to stand trial beginning April 2. She is facing felony grand theft over the stolen necklace from a Venice jewelry store called, Kamofie & Co.
