Nobody saw it coming. On Monday, Tiger Woods and his new girlfriend Lindsey Vonn announced on Facebook that they are officially together as a couple.

Just when rumors start to spread that Tiger Woods is getting back with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, he made a quick move to dismiss the buzz. He's also probably saving his face since Elin is said to be dating mining billionaire Chris Cline.

On Monday, Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn made separate posts using their Facebook accounts. They confirmed that they are a couple and have been secretly dating for some time now. Along with their announcement, they posted several sweet photos as proof of their relationship.

  • Lindsey who is considered a decorated American athlete is a dead ringer of Elin. Perhaps Tiger has a specific taste in women. Now that the secret is out, many are wondering who exactly is Tiger's new flame?
  • Lindsey is a World Cup alpine ski racer, so not particularly an average sport for a female. Overall, she has won four World Cup Championships.
  • When Vonn was 10, she met Picabo Street, an Olympic Gold medalist ski racer at that time. She considers her as her heroine and then later became her mentor.
  • Back in 1999, Lindsey became the first American to win the Trofeo Topolino in Italy.
  • She made her World Cup debut when she was just 16 years old which allowed her to climb up the ranks of the U.S. Ski Team.
  • She was married to former U.S. Ski Team athlete Thomas Vonn back in 2007. Their divorce got finalized just recently in January 2013.
  • She previously appeared in magazines like Sports Illustrated and made it to Maxim's Hot 100 list in 2010.
