''Lip Sync Battle' Season 2 spoilers: Gigi Hadid to perform 'Larger Than Life' with Backstreet Boys [VIDEO]
Model Gigi Hadid is expected to set the “Lip Sync Battle” stage on fire on Thursday, as she faces off with “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey.
Spike offered a sneak peek of just how hot the battle is going to be on its upcoming episode, showing the Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated model clad in a tight black catsuit that accentuates her curves.
In the video (watch below), the 20-year old model mouths on the lyrics of Backstreet Boys’ hit song “Larger Than Life.” A moment later, two of the boy band’s members, Nick Carter and A.J. McLean, join Hadid on stage. “Larger than Life,” released in 1999, is the group’s second single from their third studio album, “Millennium.” In addition to Carter and McLean, Backstreet Boys is composed of Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell.
Hadid’s competitor, Posey, is seen cheering during her number with “Lip Sync Battle” host LL COOL J.
Meanwhile, Spike announced that it is joining forces with and Nickelodeon to develop “Lip Sync Battle Jr,” a spinoff of Spike’s breakthrough original series. The series seeks to celebrate kids’ love of music and comedy, featuring the battles viewers have come to know and love with new variety elements.
“The whole ‘Lip Sync Battle’ family is very excited about developing a new music based, comedy variety format to showcase how much our Lip Sync Battle kids rock,” said Executive Producers Casey Patterson and Jay Peterson in a joint statement. “It's all the fun of Lip Sync Battle, only smaller.”
Spike has ordered a “Lip Sync Battle Jr.” special that will telecast later this year on both Spike and Nickelodeon. In addition, sister Viacom brands are also developing special editions of “Lip Sync Battle” events.
