Lohan has two more weeks to decide on plea deal, says LA judge
LA judge allows Lindsay Lohan to give her decision in court on March 23, two days before the next scheduled hearing
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz has allowed actress Lindsay Lohan two more weeks to make her decision on plea deal over the felony grand theft filed against her.
Schwartz has ordered Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, to inform the court of the actress’ decision on March 23, two days before the next scheduled proceedings if she decides to take the guilty plea or no contest to the theft charges.
But according to CNN, should the actress decide to contest the charges, the actress returns for another court date on April 22, the day set for the preliminary hearing over the $2,500 stolen necklace.
The judge notified Lohan’s legal team that the embattled actress will appear before Judge Stephanie Sautner if she chose a not-guilty plea and proceeds to trial.
Schwartz again warned Lohan’s camp that the probation violation will also be taken into consideration by Judge Sautner at the April hearing.
This means that regardless of her plea, the actress will face jail time. It is not only because of the stolen necklace but for ‘violating her probation for a drunk driving arrest’ which the actress committed when she was slapped with the felony grand theft.
It is then a no-win situation for the actress if she faces jail time whatever decision she makes of the charges against her.
Do you think Judge Schwartz was too hard on Lindsay Lohan?
