Lohan's counsel enters not guilty plea
Lindsay Lohan asserts innocence over stolen necklace, pleads not guilty in LA court
Los Angeles, CA - - The counsel for actress Lindsay Lohan has entered the not guilty on her behalf over felony grand theft hurled against the Mean Girls star by the Los Angeles authorities Wednesday.
Lohan’s lawyer, Atty. Shawn Chapman Holley, asserted her client’s innocence over the stolen necklace from a Venice jewelry store, Kamofie & Co.
According to Jill Serjeant of Reuters, Holley’s plea of her client’s innocence was made before the eyes and lenses of cameras televising the afternoon hearing. Lohan came to the arraignment, clad in white dress for the brief court appearance West District Airport Courthouse, Los Angeles.
Lohan’s counsel has made the headlines over the weekend, when she was first quoted of her assertion of Lilo’s innocence, asserting that they will fight the legal battle in the courts.
LA authorities have earlier been reported to file the most serious of all the charges Lohan has to face with after collecting a couple of strong evidences implicating the Freaky Friday star: one is the picture that had surfaced the net with the actress donning the $2,500 worth of stolen necklace; and two, a surveillance video with the necklace in Lohan’s neck as she left the store. When convicted, Lohan is expected to face three years imprisonment.
