Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and her Hollywood heartthrob husband George Clooney marked a year of being married on Sunday, Sept. 27. The duo celebrated their anniversary a couple of days in advance on Friday at Asanebo in Studio City, California.
For their first anniversary date night, the fashion icon wore an asymmetric dress by Tome. The red-black striped silk handkerchief dress featured a plunging neckline and is sleeveless. Amal paired the long dress with ankle strap rope wedges in nude, Vogue reported. She accessorised with huge pearl drop earrings, a nude clutch bag and her statement red lipstick, InStyle reported. Her long raven tresses were styled into a glossy blowout.
The lawyer reportedly never repeats a dress, and her designer outfits mostly consist of European luxury ready-to-wear along with vintage and couture labels. Before her marriage to George Clooney, her go-to designer for work was French brand Paule Ka, and she enhanced her official look by carrying Alice+Olivia bags.
Talking about the high-profile barrister’s fashion statement, Joe Zee, editor-in-chief of Yahoo Style, said that Amal is unapologetic about liking fashion, The New York Post reported. She also has insider access to all the top labels.
Meanwhile, TLC host Stacy London said that the style icon has not yet found a casual style that suits her. “Formal just suits her better. She’s too coiffed for that look,” the host of “Love, Lust or Run” said.
A source told US Weekly in April that the 54-year-old actor had installed a runway, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and a light system in her closet at the couple’s home in Studio City, Los Angeles. The closet houses Amal’s Dior, Oscar de la Renta and Alexander McQueen ensembles.
Her actor husband said in an interview in May that his wife has a great taste. Clooney even joked that they required “another bedroom” at their home for her designer wardrobe.
Amal is known for her impeccable sense of style. Fashion expert and founder of Glam4Good, Mary Alice Stephenson, said that the high-flying lawyer seemed to have taken a page from Princess Diana. “She understands how clothes can draw attention and make a statement,” Stephenson added.
Meanwhile, the A-list couple did not have an elaborate first anniversary celebration, as the “Tomorrowland” star attended the memorial of his close friend Jerry Weintraub on Sunday, ET Online reported.
