Jennifer Lopez is back and is once again scrutinized by critics.

Lopez took a break to have twins with her husband, singer Marc Anthony. She is now back on the big screen with her usually radiant and pleasant screen presence. However, she is let down by a mediocre script.

In her new movie The Back-Up Plan, Lopez plays Zoe, a 30-something woman who turns to artificial insemination in fears that her time to have a baby is running out. She then meets Stan, played by Aussie Alex O'Loughlin, right after the procedure. He immediately gets attracted to her.

The pair randomly crosses paths at the farmers' market where Stan sells organic goats' cheese and at the pet shop where Zoe works.

Zoe isn't ready to have a man in her life now, most especially after undergoing her 'back-up plan'. Eventually, she falls for the charms and persistency of Stan.

But Stan doesn't know that Zoe is carrying the child of another man.

Lopez's performance in this film is very natural, as shown by the way she stuffed her face with beef bourguignon the way a pregnant woman does, wearing tracky-daks, and looking de-glamorised in the bedroom.

Many are looking forward to seeing Lopez do a more dramatic role. Her portrayal in the movie Out of Sight, alongside George Clooney, is still considered as one of her best films.
