Lorde, Imagine Dragons Lead Billboard Music Awards Nominees List
Lorde has scored whopping 12 nods at the Billboard Music Awards. The Billboard Music Awards, which will be held on May 18 in Las Vegas, has released its complete list of nominees, and the 17-year-old Kiwi’s nods were matched in number only by the American alt-rock band Imagine Dragons.
Lorde and Imagine Dragons hold 12 nominations each, with Justin Timberlake receiving the second most number of nods with 11, while Katy Perry and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have 10 each.
Lorde is up for Top New Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, and Top Rock Artist. Her chart-winning album, “Pure Heroine,” is nominated for Top Rock Album, while her hit song “Royals” is up for Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song, Top Rock and Top Streaming Song (Audio).
Imagine Dragons, meanwhile, are vying for Top Artist award, as well as Top Duo/Group, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Rock Artist, Top Rock Albu for “Night Visions,” and Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Streaming Song (Audio) for “Radioactive,” as well as Top Rock Song for “Demons” and “Radioactive.”
Other nominees include Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Beyonce, Luke Bryan, and PSY.
The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will air live in the U.S. from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 18.
