New Zealand Music Awards has announced its nominees, and Lorde and Sol3 Mio lead the list with five nods each.

She’s the reigning teen queen of music, so it’s unsurprising that her name has topped the nominations list for the prestigious awards show in her home country. Lorde, 17, is up for Best Album, Single of the Year (“Team”), Best Female Solo Artist, Best Pop Album (“Pure Heroine”) and Vodafone People’s Choice Award.

She’s up against Tiny Ruins and Ladi6 for Best Female Solo Artist, and against David Dallas, Stan Walker, Broods and Sol3 Mio for People’s Choice Award.

Last year, she won all of her four nominated categories, Single of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, People’s Choice Award and International Achievement Award.

Joel Little, Lorde’s co-songwriter for “Royals,” has already been announced as the winner of two honours, Best Engineer and Best Producer for “Pure Heroine. Anna Taylor also already won Best Album Cover for her artwork on Liam Finn’s “The Nihilist.”

Operatic pop trio Sol3 Mio also have five nominations, namely, Album of the Year, Best Group, Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Vodafone People’s Choice Award. They already won Best Pacific Music Album 2014 for their self-titled album “Sol3 Mio.”

Ladi6 and David Dallas are not far behind Lorde and Sol3 Mio in the nominations list. They are both nominated for four categories each, while folk singer Tiny Ruins is up for the first time with three awards.

The New Zealand Music Awards will announce the winners on November 20 at the Vector Arena. Sol3 Mio, Tiny Ruins, Benny Tipene, David Dallas, Blacklistt and Broods will perform.
