As the year comes to an end, her song "Yellow Flicker Beat" got nominated for the race of "Best Original Song" at the next year's Golden Globe Awards. But there are times when the New Zealand based singer feels low too. At times like these in her life, the tech-savvy singer reads all the inspiring and wonderful messages that her fans send her about her work on various social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram. The 18-year-old singer revealed in her recent interview that she loves receiving honest feedback of her work from her fans and also saves some of the most inspiring tweets and messages.
The songstress, who boasts of over two million followers on both Instagram and Twitter, says she uses various features of the social media to let her fans interact with her directly. For Tumblr, she has enabled the "ask" feature to get direct messages from her fans, writes Daily Mail. The "Royals" singer believes that it is a "really useful tool" because she gets to hear direct feedback about her work. Lorde, whose real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, has admitted she loves Twitter because it allows her to link "directly" to people. "You just reach out to someone you like and say, "Follow me, please, and then we can talk,"' the singer is quoted as saying by Daily Mail. The singer then praised Instagram for its simplicity and said she is also on Facebook to keep in touch with her fans. The singer admitted she used good feedback as her mood lifter.
"I have this folder on my computer of lovely things people have said to me and whenever I'm in a super-low, terrible mood, I'm like, "Remember these wonderful souls who said incredible things about you!,"' said Lorde, according to the website. The multiple Grammy Award winning singer has recently been in news for composing the song "Yellow Flicker Beat" for the movie "The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1." The track is nominated for The Golden Globe Awards that are scheduled to take place on Jan. 11, 2015.
