Lorde’s Price Tag Revealed; New Report Shows Booking Fees Of Artists (Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and More)
Lorde can now afford a Cadillac, whether it’s in her dream or in real life. The Kiwi pop princess is reportedly now commanding at least U$150,000 fee for every show.
A report from Priceonomics reveals that the 17-year-old “Royals” hitmaker is charging from U$150,000 to U$250,000 per show, which put her in the same price category as Ke$ha, John Legend, Jason Mraz, Kelly Clarkson, Kid Cudi, Robin Thicke and Bob Dylan.
And despite being relatively a newcomer in the industry, she has a greater price tag than more established acts, including LL Cool J, Cee Lo Green, Creed, Damian Marley, Frank Ocean, Elli Goulding and Flo Rida, who all charge from U$150,000 to U$150,000.
Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews, Madonna, James Taylor and Bon Jovi are all listed as charging U$1 million and above booking fees, though the site wanted to add Lady Gaga in the expensive list.
One Direction’s booking fee listed at U$150,000 to U$200,000 per show “seems suspiciously low.” Another site’s numbers for the UK top boyband appear to be more accurate at U$500,000 to U$1 million per show.
The rough numbers were provided by booking agency Degy Entertainment. But as Priceonomics noted, these are just asking prices from a third-party booking agency that specialises in college shows, and therefore the numbers are probably inflated.
The Web site added that the numbers are suspicious, with some looked too low for such well-known acts.
Meanwhile, Lorde continues her winning streak with two more gongs from Billboard Music Awards.
She was nominated for 12 trophies, and ended up going home with two: Top New Artist and Top Rock Song for “Royals.”
She also premiered a new track, “Tennis Court,” on the Billboard stage. Donning an all black ensemble and a trendy hat to match, the chart-topper earned praises for her catchy new tune.
