Lori Vallow Indicted On 2019 Murder Of Fourth Husband
Lori Vallow has been indicted in connection with the 2019 murder of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, according to prosecutors in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Lori Vallow, who has already been charged in the deaths of her two children, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder by a grand jury on Thursday, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
According to Maricopa County officials, Vallow’s brother, Alexander Cox, had called 911 on July 11 and reported that he had fatally shot and killed his brother-in-law Charles Vallow, who died at the scene of the shooting.
Cox allegedly claimed the shooting was self-defense against Charles Vallow and was never charged. Cox died in December 2019 of a blood clot caused by natural causes, according to a medical examiner.
Lori Vallow allegedly agreed to conspire to kill Charles Vallow after he had filed for divorce from her.
“Complex, difficult cases of this nature take time to properly investigate and solve. I appreciate the tremendous number of hours the dedicated officers of the Chandler Police Department have invested, and my office is equally committed to bringing those responsible for Charles Vallow’s death to justice,” Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel said in a statement.
In May, Vallow and her husband Chad Daybell were both charged with murdering their two children in Idaho.
The children — Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 17 — were last seen in September 2019.
Lori Vallow and Daybell never reported the children missing. They also reportedly did not cooperate with investigators in the search for the children and fled Idaho.
The remains of the two children were found buried on Daybell’s property in June 2020.
Daybell has also been charged with the first-degree murder of his wife, Tammy Daybell, 49, who died in October 2019. He was also charged with insurance fraud in connection to her death, while Vallow was charged with conspiracy in her death.
Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell married a few weeks after Tammy Daybell's death and were found in Hawaii in January 2020.
Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell have apocalyptic religious beliefs that they use to justify the murders, according to reports.
