Los Angeles Clippers Players Ditch Coach Doc Rivers, Spotted Doing Some Team Bonding in West Hollywood
While other NBA teams are either busy playing for the pre-season games or practicing for the 2013-2014 NBA season, the players of Los Angeles Clippers were spotted in West Hollywood on Monday night.
As reported by TMZ, the Los Angeles Clippers team was seen dining out at Cecconi's restaurant. Chris Paul, Matt Barnes, DeAndre Jordan and the rest of the group were there. Also, according to TMZ, the team's coach Doc Rivers wasn't in attendance. Maybe the coach wanted the team to have some time alone before the season officially begins.
"The dinner was planned so that the team could get off on the right step," Jared Dudley told TMZ.
The Clippers have some of the best players in the professional basketball league. They have a great roster lined up for this year, such as the 2013 NBA All-Star MVP Chris Paul, who has just renewed his contract with the Clippers. Also, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are out to prove major improvements. Then, there is Jamal Crawford, Matt Barnes and JJ Redick. Their new swingman Jared Dudley is also expected to deliver great things for the team. The team has definitely brought in a lot of new additions.
"Dudley just fits in and does his role," said Rivers in an interview with NBA. "With our players, we really need that, we didn't need guys competing against each other, we needed guys who just wanted to fall into their roles," Rivers added.
The Clippers have already played 6 out of their 8 pre-season games. Their current record is 4 wins and 2 losses. The team is expected to play with Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings on Oct 23 and Oct 25, respectively. They will face the Los Angeles Lakers when the 2013-2014 regular NBA season starts on Oct 29. The Clippers have, pretty much, a good start this season and they can actually be considered as contenders for the championship title.
