‘Lose Yourself’ rapper Eminem sells shoes for charity
Eminem recently collaborated with classic workwear brand Carhartt and Michael Jordan and Nike’s Jordan brand to sell shoes for charity. High-end sneaker collaborations are for up auction, to benefit the Marshall Mathers Foundation.
“Another look.. Eminem X @jumpman23 X @carhartt,” Eminem captioned the photo of the shoes, which he posted on Instagram. “Due to higher than anticipated demand for the 10 pairs that will be made available to the public, the charity auction will be postponed a few days to ensure we can provide the best customer experience possible.”
Celebrating the 15th anniversary of Eminem’s Shady Records label, t he Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 marks Eminem and the Jordan Bran’s third collaboration. Known for its rough and rugged material, Carhartt made sure the shoes -- featuring graphics from Eminem and Shady Records -- complimented the “Lose Yourself” rapper's signature style, according to High Snobiety.
The upper of the Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 are made up of the Carhartt canvas material, while the ShadyXV logo appears below the Jumpman on the tongue and the heel of the shoe, showing Eminem’s trademark hockey mask and backwards “E” logo. The coinciding auctions for the limited release of the sneaker collaborations were made official on Nov. 10 .
There will be 10 pairs of Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 to be auctioned, to benefit the Marshall Mathers Foundation. In cooperation with a charity founded by Detroit attorney Norman Yatooma, Eminem’s charitable organisation provides assistance to at-risk and disadvantaged youth mainly in Detroit, Michigan and its surrounding communities.
Meanwhile, Eminem’s fans are waiting for the “Lose Yourself” rapper to release his ninth studio album. The Detroit rapper’s most recent album was “The Marshall Mathers LP2,” his eighth studio album released by Shady Records, Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment on Nov. 5, 2013.
