Tom Ellis teased some details about his character in “Lucifer” Season 2 in a recent interview. The actor said that there would be some “change” in his character after finding out that his mother has escaped from hell. The devil will now have to go out in search of his mother in the next season.

[Spoiler Alert]

In the finale episode of the first season, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) died, but was resurrected by god and tasked with finding his mother, who had escaped from hell. DC Entertainment caught up with cast members Ellis and Lauren German (Chloe Decker) and asked about what to expect next.

When asked if there was a possibility of a romance between the Chloe and Morningstar, German said that they already towed the line of romance in the first season. Ellis, however, bluntly pointed out that his character turned down the advances of Chloe.

German recalled how her character came drunk to Morningstar’s house, but was turned down. The actress is prepared to see her character rekindle that romance with Morningstar in “Lucifer” Season 2, because Ellis is her favourite person to work with.

The most important plot point of the next season is Morningstar’s mother escaping hell. Ellis pointed out that most of the first season showed how his character isn’t scared of anything. Towards the end of the season, audience find out that he is “quite scared” of his mother.

Ellis said that the search for his mother will “change” the way Morningstar is. He said that the stakes are much higher for his character in “Lucifer” Season 2. He teased that his search will “certainly change the dynamics of a few relationships.” The character may not spend a lot of time solving crimes, like he did in the first season, because he will be a little “preoccupied.”
