‘Mad Men’ Season 7 Update: Jon Hamm And Elisabeth Moss Talk Final Season
The final seven episodes of AMC's "Mad Men" Season 7 are expected to air in spring 2015. There is much speculation about how the swansong season will end. Mathew Weiner, creator of "Mad Men" is not someone who loves to spill spoilers. Jon Hamm, who plays Don Draper, has said that he has become good at keeping secrets. However, he has told his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, how "Mad Men" is going to end.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Hamm said that his girlfriend of 15 years knows the secret ending of "Mad Men." The actor said, "I tell her everything! I tell her everything and she definitely knows." Hamm is sure that Westfeldt is not going to tell the ending to anyone else. Us Weekly has quoted him as saying, "She won't tell anyone!"
Meanwhile, Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson in the show, has said that Peggy's speech to get the Burger Chef account is a "great end" for her character. In an interview with HuffPost Entertainment, the actress said, "You get handed a speech like that as an actor and you just want to get down on your knees and kiss the writers' feet. It's such a gift for an actor."
"In a way, there's an argument for that being a great end for Peggy," Moss added. Peggy gave the speech a day after the moon landing on July 21, 1969. It was Draper who was originally supposed to give the presentation, but he stepped aside and let Peggy shine. He said to the Burger Chef team, "Every great ad tells a story. Here to tell that story is Peggy Olson." Draper also said that Peggy is "uniquely qualified to craft this modern campaign." She got the Burger Chef account.
Speaking about the pitch for Burger Chef, Moss said to HuffPost Entertainment that she loves the idea of "making this beautiful, poetic, emotional speech about burgers. To me, that was advertising." The actress said that in that world, they picked a product that was "frowned upon" or "totally normal" and turned it into "something beautiful." Moss said, "that speech is exactly what "Mad Men" does best."
Weiner is expecting mixed reviews for "Mad Men" series finale.
