Elizabeth McCord has to face the press in "Madam Secretary" episode 3. One of the journalists has evidence of U.S spying on France and other allies. She is confronted about the issue by the journalist at a press conference.
The evidence of U.S spying on other nations has been leaked by a mole in U.S Department of State.
