Rumours are rife in LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts that a famous celebrity offspring will join its hallways next fall. The Queen of Pop, Madonna, told American tabloid magazine UsWeekly that her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon, affectionately known as Lola, was admitted into a "performing-arts high school" and would be majoring in drama.

Talk regarding Lola's admittance into the school could be proof that her Material Mum has finally given the teenager the green light to properly pursue the entertainment industry. Just about a month ago, the '4 Minutes' singer gave Lola a small role in her upcoming feature film, 'W.E.', which is rumoured to star Australian actress Abbie Cornish.

Besides that, Lola has also been known to have a penchant and exceptional talent for dancing, as exhibited in her mother's 'Celebration' video, and has been taking acting classes in Manhattan. However, Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, would only confirm that Lola is likely to attend school in the city because "they live here now."

Students at Lola's possible future high school, of which the movie 'Fame' was based on, are aware of the rumour but have mixed reactions towards it. Some were unhappy to hear that Lola was given preferential treatment via a private audition rather than face the pressures of a public audition. While others, like junior arts major, Karem Penalo, welcomes the news and hopes that she comes in handy for when they come around for parent donations."
