Staffers of 'O magazine', which is owned by Oprah Winfrey, received an extra $10,000 this week.

The Advertising Age reported on Wednesday that Winfrey gave out Apple iPads and $10,000 cheques to every employee regardless of their tenure in the company. This is to mark the 10th anniversary of the magazine.

"These were personal gifts to the staff from Oprah to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the magazine," the report quoted a spokeswoman for the magazine's publisher Hearst as saying.

Winfrey is known to be very generous and for her gift-giving ways. Back in 2004, she gave an entire studio audience free cars from Pontiac.

In the meantime, the popular US television talk show host will be ending "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2011 after 25 years to start with her own cable TV network.

The top-rated daytime show is aired from Chicago on ABC television stations across the United States and in more than 140 countries. It has helped Winfrey gain her fortune estimated by Forbes magazine at $2.3 billion. She was once the world's only black millionaire.
