Adelaide suburb, Magill was the best performing market in South Australia with a 19.09 growth rate in December.

Average house prices in the area increased to $602,575 compared to $506,000 prices during the same time the previous year based on numbers reported by Real Estate Institute of South Australia. Overall, median house prices across the South Australian capital of Adelaide is about $406,000.

LJ Hooker Kensington agent, Andrew Welch, said those interested in the Magill area have almost doubled in the last few months. “I think the surrounding suburbs are a lot more expensive so some see Magill as an affordable eastern suburbs location,” he said.

Magill is located about 7 kilometers from downtown Adelaide by the eastern suburbs.

Suburbs St. Georges and Burnside also registered growth at 10 percent and 2.6 percent respectively while properties in Parkside declined by 6.6 percent with average house rates cut by $41,500 to $710,500.
