"Doctor Who," a super hit science fiction television show produced by the BBC has successfully completed its golden jubilee and will be celebrating its 50th anniversary soon. To treat its fans, the makers of the show have released "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary trailer.

The trailer is a real treat for the "Doctor Who" fans as it takes you back to the era when the series began.

The "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary trailer was released on Oct. 19, 2013 subsequently it was released online. The trailer was directed by Matt Losasso and was aired on BBC One channel.

The trailer that was aired after "Strictly Come Dancing" is packed with sophisticated special effects and takes a trip back to the past. It showcases all the doctors from the starting of the series till the end. It features from the first incarnation of Doctor Who William Hartnell till the present one and the eleventh one Matt Smith. The spectacular trailer that you would want to watch repeatedly brings all the legendary icons of the show. It consists of a special monologue by the eleventh doctor Matt Smith. The trailer does not reveal anything about the "The Day of the Doctor" episode. The details of which are being kept under covers only making fans highly curious.

"I've been running all my lives, through time and space; every second of every minute of every day for over 900 years. I fought for peace in a universe at war. Now the time has come to face the choices I have made in the name of the Doctor. Our future depends on one single moment of one impossible day, the day I've been running from all my life. The day of the Doctor," Matt Smith says in the monologue from the trailer.

The 50th anniversary special episode "The Day of the Doctor" is due to be aired on BBC One channel on Nov. 23, 2013. This episode will be shown in 2D and 3D. The episode has been described as "a love letter to the fans by the producer Marcus Wilson and as an "event drama" by the controller of the channel BBC One, Danny Cohen.

"Doctor Who" 50th anniversary trailer has been received with great enthusiasm by fans and have left them desiring for more. Some are excited and some are disappointed as it gives out no details for the epic episode "The Day of the Doctor."
