Who shot down the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 remains an unresolved mystery as the blame-game continues. However, former congressman Ron Paul claims that the U.S. "knows a lot more than it's telling us."

On his blog "Voices of Liberty," the former Republican talked about the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in a post titled "Government Likely Hiding Truth in Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 Crash."

"The U.S. government has grown strangely quite on the accusation that it was Russia or her allies that brought down the Malaysian airliner with a buck anti-aircraft missile [sic]," Ron Paul wrote on his blog Voices of Liberty.

The writer and author of the book "The Case for Gold" stated that the U.S. intelligence does not have any "evidence" that could prove "Russia was involved." He claims that it was a "war propaganda" that was let on by the U.S. and has convinced the Americans that Russia is responsible.

Pointing at U.S.'s advanced satellite technology, the former Republican presidential candidate questions the lack of "precise proof." Paul stated in his blog that if there is contradiction in their "government's accusations" the evidence is concealed from the public.

In his blog, he cites that "some independent sources claim" that the location of the MH17's crash "revealed evidence that bullet holes may have come from a fighter jet." He suggests that if these claims are proved consistent with the facts "it would implicate western Ukraine."

At the end, Ron Paul states that he is "convinced" that the U.S. "knows more than" it has revealed.

Previously, on his website, Ron Paul accused that "Western politicians and media joined together to gain the maximum propaganda value from the disaster." He noted many points that he claims would never be reported by these media outlets.

MH17 crashed on July 17, killing 298 people on board while crossing the Ukrainian skies. Malaysia Airlines flight was travelling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. It is believed to be shot down by a Buk surface-to-air-missile. It is said the missile came from territory controlled by pro-Russian rebels.
