Manchester City is bolstering its squad with exceptional young talents from overseas.

The Citizens are appearing to be one step ahead of the competition in terms of recruiting young prospects.

Ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window, Manchester City is already closing in on two sensational signings.

After reportedly agreeing to a deal in May, Manchester City is now set to complete the £4.3 million ($6 million) transfer of Metinho from Fluminense in the coming months, Goal reported.

Metinho is one of Brazil’s most promising rising stars, and it didn't take long for big-name clubs to notice his remarkable form.

In fact, as early as now, the 18-year-old is already being dubbed as the “Brazilian Paul Pogba,” having displayed notable similarities with the Manchester United star.

"People joke and sometimes call him Pogba due to his style, his appearance, and because he plays with his head up.” Marcelo Veiga, the technical coordinator of the Fluminense academy, told TV Globo.

“There's a long way to go before I get to his level," Metinho added in the same interview. "But I will work for it, and maybe one day be better than him!"

Aside from Metinho, Manchester City is also in the final stages of completing Dario Sarmiento’s move to the Etihad Stadium.

After almost one year of tailing Sarmiento, Manchester City will now pay him a guaranteed initial fee of $6 million and an additional $12 million in potential add-ons,” per Spanish outlet Marca.

Sarmiento is set to join Manchester City from Estudiantes on July 1 after signing a five-year deal with the English Premier League club, the report added.

Like Metinho, Sarmiento is also being likened to another world-class player.

Due to the Argentine’s savvy playing style, many have tagged him as the “New Lionel Messi.”

Speaking about his decision to leave Estudiantes, Sarmiento admitted that “as soon as” he heard “Manchester City,” he immediately wanted to go and not listen to any other possibilities.

“I trust my representatives a lot and I stay out of all that,” Sarmiento bared. “I know they came to see me play, then I had some talks with them and now I’m excited to be able to travel and start this new experience at Manchester City.”

“The truth is that I don’t know, but as soon as they told me the real possibility of Manchester City, I did not hesitate, it made me very happy and I didn’t want to hear anything else."
