Man Found Naked on Road with Severed Penis May Undergo Penis Reattachment [VIDEO]
A man was found naked with severed genitalia lying in the middle of the road of Washington, U.S. Authorities are still trying to investigate how the man ended up on the road and who was responsible for cutting off his penis.
The unidentified man was discovered lying on the road in the 1400 block of 5th street around 4:20 am. He was found be drenched in his own pool of blood but remained conscious. Authorities in Clarkston, Washington, said that the man had no memory of what happened to his penis. He also did not remember how he ended up naked in the middle of the road.
Local police investigators followed a trail of blood several hundred yards from the man's position on the road to a grassy hillside. Police found the man's bloody and severed penis including his boxer shorts and a jagged knife.
Possible penis reattachment
The naked man with a severed penis was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center where he received treatment. Doctors say the man will survive the unfortunate incident to his body. His penis was delivered to the hospital to see if doctors can reattach it to the man's body. It remains unclear if doctors will be able to reattach the penis.
A severed penis can be reattached if most of the penis is salvageable according to Dr. Andrew Kramer who is also a urologist and surgeon at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
A man's penis was cut off by his wife in 2011. Based on the professional opinion of Dr. Kramer who is no way involved in the treatment of his patient, the best option is always to reattach the severed penis.
The video above is proof that penis reattachment is possible. The procedure has been perfected by Thai doctors since Thai women cutting off their men's penises are common in the country.
For penis reattachment to be successful, the penis will have to put frozen or at least put on ice. Ideally, the penis should be attached within 24 hours. The unidentified man found on a Washington road may have a chance of possibly getting his penis reattached if doctors perform the operation within 24 hours.
