An unidentified deranged man reportedly butchered to death a family of five members, including a one-year-old child, using a meat cleaver Saturday night. The reason behind the heinous crime was allegedly the family was too rich.

The Blaze wrote that one police source stated that the suspect allegedly confessed his reason for doing the heinous crime. The New York Post reported that the victims were Qiao Zhen Li, a 37-year-old mother and her four children ages 5, 7, 9 and 1.

The suspected was arrested at the crime scene barefooted with his feet wrapped in blood. Some scissors and a machete were also found.

Further reports claimed the suspect was young as 25 and was very calm with no remorse. Gao Yun, cousin of the killed mother, recalled meeting the suspect only once and perceived him as a bit "crazy."

The suspect was identified as Ming Don Chen and the New York Police Department (NYPD) discovered he is a cousin of the father of the butchered family. According to the NYPD Chief Phil Banks, all the victims were literally "cut and butchered with a kitchen knife."

The 5-year-old and the mother were rushed to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival. The suspect was known to have been staying in the home of the family for about a week or so.

A nearby resident described the stare of the suspect as without expression. May Chan, another neighbor, May Chan, shared with the Daily News how heart-breaking the incident was. She said she's used to seeing those kids running around the place, especially in her garage.
