Man United To Announce Another Sensational Transfer After Varane
Manchester United is nearing the announcement of another sensational signing.
The new English Premier League season has begun, but Manchester United is still wrapping up a few transfer deals. The Red Devils are finally done with the signing of Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and are now working on some finishing touches in the transfer of Liverpool’s Ethan Ennis, Manchester Evening News reported.
Ahead of the club’s official statement, Ennis has already confirmed on Instagram that he has signed with Manchester United.
“I am delighted to announce that I have signed for [Manchester United],” Ennis wrote. “Grateful for this opportunity, can’t wait to get started.”
Ennis’ path to becoming a Red Devil wasn’t easy, with Liverpool believed to have attempted to keep him at Anfield. However, the 16-year-old may have had other things in mind and rejected a fresh set of terms offered by the Reds, according to The Liverpool Echo.
It is yet to be known which competition Ennis will play for at Manchester United, but one thing certain is that he left a good impression in Liverpool’s youth ranks.
The teenager has played a total of seven league games for Liverpool’s under-18s and once in the FA Youth Cup, bagging a total of five goals in the process.
Ennis’ most remarkable performance so far was a hat-trick against Sutton United in his FA Youth Cup debut, something Liverpool U18 coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson has raved about.
“It was a great evening for him,” Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpool’s club website of Ennis’ hat-trick. “It was his debut in the FA Youth Cup and he got three goals! What a wonderful achievement for him and he went on and did what I ask our subs to do – have an impact on the game.”
“He arrived in great areas which forward players do and his finishing was really good,” he added.
Varane, on the other hand, has officially become a Manchester United player, the club announced Saturday.
The 28-year-old, who was described in the statement as “one of the most decorated players in world football,” inked a deal that will see him play for the Red Devils until June 2025.
Addressing the new chapter in his illustrious career, Varane stressed that he is thrilled to become part of a historic club and is “ready to play at the highest level.”
“Manchester United is one of the most iconic clubs in world football and the chance to come here and play in the Premier League is something I couldn’t turn down,” Varane said in a statement. “There is a lot more that I want to achieve in my career and I know I’m joining a squad full of great players who will all have the same determination to win matches and trophies.”
“Having spoken to the manager I can see how much progress has been made over the last few seasons and I now join a group ready to play at the highest level,” he continued. “I want to make an impact here and I will give everything to become part of this club’s illustrious history.”
