After suffering back-to-back defeats in the Premier League against Manchester City FC and West Bromwich Albion FC, Manchester United FC Manager David Moyes is still contended with ending their game with a draw against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League.

"It is a good point. Shakhtar have a great record against English sides and the team stood up well to them," Moyes told uefa.com.

Given the caliber of players that he has at his disposal, the performance that his team is showing as of late is unacceptable.

And to reason out that Shakhtar has a good record against English clubs, in general, is quite lame.

Manchester United is a global brand. It is a club that is known to be winners for the past few decades, but it seems to be losing its grip because of the absence of Sir Alex Ferguson.

When Fergie took the helm at United, he invested on youth, which he groomed to be great players like David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, just to name a few.

Moyes, on the other hand, kept on whining during the transfer window for failing to attract expensive players to come to Old Trafford.

All great managers employ their own style and approach. They do not generally care about what their predecessors have contributed to the success of the club. This is exemplified by what Pep Guardiola did at Bayern Munich.

To date, United has not created its own identity on the pitch. Just like their manager, the squad looks unsure of itself.

Surely, Moyes has what it takes to be a good manager, but a team like United deserves a great manager that can lead them to greater heights.
