Manchester United News: Van Gaal Refuses to Confirm Appointment Amid Rumours
Several news sources have reported that Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal will be appointed as Manchester United boss in the next few days, but the 62-year-old kept mum about the impending move.
"No, I would not say anything about it," said the former Ajax manager.
"You must wait until the process is complete. If you want to know more, then you must put questions to Manchester United, or perhaps to another club."
"I cannot say anything further about it."
Van Gaal, who won domestic leagues in Spain, Netherlands, Germany, and a Champions League with Ajax, learned that he needed to be very cautious of his statements because of a previous experience in the past weeks.
"I said a few words last week about Manchester United because there were uninvited English journalists here and I thought it would be a little mean spirited if I did not answer a few of their questions," he added.
"I mumbled a few words to them and, from that, they write 60 full pages. But you can't do anything about it."
