Manchester United owners are allegedly planning a move to sell the club but will first secure the Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo before selling according to a report from the Daily Mail. The Glazer family is preparing to shell out a big sum of money for the 29-year-old star ahead of negotiations with his agent Jorge Mendes, despite the astounding £500k a week wage of Ronaldo.

Ronaldo would cost Manchester United £60 million on top of his weekly wage but the Glazer family still considers to take the football superstar because it believes that taking him might help secure top market value in the event that they put the club for sale.

The UK publication believes that the Glazer family is eyeing a timeline where they will splash out on Ronald and then ask buyers for £3 billion for the Old Trafford, although they are willing to give it for £2 billion for the right buyer.

The outrageous amount of money involved indicates that Ronaldo is indeed the hottest property in the football world, a player who has taken his game to another level since transferring from Old Trafford to the Bernabeu in 2009. Four years ago, Real Madrid spent £80 million to acquire Ronaldo and needless to say, the club would want to recoup the sum before considering the sale of their star play but then again, this much-rumoured deal is pretty attractive and is very much likely to appear on the cards next summer.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has no intentions to let Ronaldo return to Manchester United, according to Goal.com. The Spanish club is not interested to let Ronaldo go next summer claiming that Ronaldo is not willing to move to a club that cannot offer Champions League football.

Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal previously indicated his interest to sign Ronaldo, saying that it is possible but he also said at the same time that he does not expect the Real Madrid to sell.

"I can't imagine Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo. These are meaningless rumours. He is really happy to be at Real Madrid and Madrid fans are very happy with him," Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti claimed.
