Javier Hernandez, also known as Chicharito or little pea has become a liability for manager Louis van Gaal. The manager and the club have decided to sell him when he returns from the loan spell at Real Madrid at the end of the season.

He arrived as a 22 year old at Manchester in the summer of 2010 with a lot of expectations from the Mexican side Chivas de Guadalajara. He had cost the club £6M at that point in time having scored 21 goals in 28 appearances for the Mexican club in the previous season. In his first year at Manchester United he showed glimpses of that form when his return for the season was 20 goals in 45 appearances for the club.

Unfortunately he has not been able to match that performance in the next three seasons. His goal tally for his second season was 12 in 36 matches. In the third it improved to 18 in 36 matches while in the last season it plummeted to a very poor 9 in 35 matches in all competitions.

With the arrival of Louis van Gaal and the loan signing Radamel Falcao, Chicharito was not central to van Gaal's scheme of things anymore. This resulted in him being loaned to Real Madrid for the rest of the season. At Real he has not set the world on fire as well. He has scored four goals in 14 appearances in all competitions.

He has one year left in his contract and according to The Telegraph, the club management are not thinking about keeping him at the club till his contract expires. Rather they would like to cash in by selling him when they can.

Manchester United have already sold Danny Welbeck to Arsenal as van Gaal though that his goals per game ratio was just not good enough to be at Manchester United, the same can be said of Hernandez as well. The club have also pointed out that Hernandez will leave the club irrespective of whether the Falcao loan deal is made permanent or not.
