Manchester United Striker Wayne Rooney Reveals Photos of His Head Injury
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney revealed horrifying images of a cut sustained in practice.
The photo was uploaded on his official Facebook page to conclude speculations regarding his absence in the upcoming games for the World Cup Qualifiers.
According to reports, Rooney's injury, which required 12 stitches, will take three weeks to heal.
"Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the 2 games," Rooney said.
"There's nothing I would like more than to be helping the lads in the qualifiers."
"I'm sure people will see from these images the reason why I won't be able to play."
England currently sits at second place with 12 points. They are scheduled to play against Moldova on Friday and Ukraine on Sept 10.
The incident was witnessed by his teammate, Michael Carrick, who knows Rooney as a tough warrior; however, the injury is just too serious to be shrugged-off.
"We know what he is like," Carrick told the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH).
"We know what he is like," Carrick said. "If there was a way of playing he would.
"It is easy for people to look at the past and compare with what has gone on, but every situation is different.
"It was a bad cut. It wasn't nice to see. It is unfortunate but it is something that we will deal with."
